Harvest Nation

Harvest Nation is an indoor, aeroponic farm currently fundraising to afford a three-year pilot demonstration project. Help us bring Fresh, Quality, Heirloom, Non-GMO Vegetables and Fruits, locally grown year-round to the Northland. We are inviting individuals and families residing on the Iron Range and Bois Forte communities to complete a Preliminary Signup form that we can use to show grant-making agencies real potential customers. Information on how to pre-signup is available in our Press Release, dated 4/11/20, available on the Harvest Nation Blog. We are planning for constructing our first farm facility in the Soudan Underground Mine State Park pending negotiations with the MN State Department of Natural Resources. Fundraising was stalled due to the pandemic and is lifting off again through the 2020 MN Cup startup business competition where Harvest Nation advanced to the Semi-Finals in the Impact Division. We will find out August 17, 2020 if we are selected for the Finalist Round with a chance at seed funding. The farm will also reconnect with private foundations for leveraging resources in early Fall 2020 to launch a pilot demonstration farm in 2021. We wanted access to affordable, fresh, niche, tasty produce, and we know our neighbors want it too. We are developing a pilot farming program to serve Minnesota’s northland towns of Tower, Cook, Ely, Orr, Virginia, Eveleth, and in the Bois Forte tribal communities on the Nett Lake and Vermilion Reservations. Harvest Nation has completed an independent feasibility study that gathered input from t from local residents, chefs, restaurant owners, food partners, and health professionals. The information has confirmed the viability of what we have to offer. We are now fundraising for a demonstration farm to provide a local source of quality health food direct to families while showcasing the future of aeroponic technology and indoor agriculture.
