Harvest Nation Seeks Input from Iron Range Community!

Harvest Nation needs your help!   We need feedback and input from permanent residents of the following locations around the Iron Range: Bois Forte Reservations (Nett Lake and Vermilion), Tower/Soundan, Ely, Cook, Orr, Virginia, Eveleth. 18+ yrs of age. Head of households or main food purchasers for the home.   What for?   We’re using this information to help with a feasibility study for an indoor farm. Company Background Harvest Nation, Inc. is developing an indoor, vertical farm using automated aeroponic growing technology to serve the Iron Range in northern Minnesota. We are currently research technical, market, and financial needs to start a pilot farming operation in a garage on our property where we reside on the Lake Vermilion Reservation. Press Release: Indoor Ag to meet Nutritional Needs on the Iron Range!

Harvest Nation is excited to announce it has received a $35,000 grant award from the Blandin Foundation to lay the groundwork to bring fresh, locally grown produce to the Iron Range!   The Blandin Foundation (Grand Rapids, MN) has awarded Harvest Nation through its fiscal agent, the Iron Range Partnership for Sustainability (IRPS, Virginia, MN), $35,000 to complete a four-month research project leading towards the development of a pilot program for a year-round, indoor farming operation. These are just some of my thoughts reflecting on an abnormally harsh winter and how feasting and feeding the spirits has helped aid the emotional damage.
